1.whatz the difference between apache webserver and tomcat.

Coming to Tomcat it has servlet engine which provides environment for running servlets as per Servlet specification (v2.3/v2.4)by sun microsystems.

2.how can tomcat alone work as a webserver as well as servlet container?

Naveen>> Yes, it will work. Since servlet container implementation in Tomcat is in accordance with servlet specification by sun microsystems (which every vendor supports) and is not properietery implementation of Tomcat.

wanna know about deploying java webservices in globus tool kit.so if
